Steven Smith enjoyed his first taste of tea as a kid at his grandmother’s house in Portland, Oregon. After high school and Vietnam, he co-founded Stash, the world’s first specialty tea company. He next went on to Tazo, which later sold to Starbucks. In 2007, he decided to create a new tea company, one that would be small, completely transparent, and based in Portland, Oregon. In 2009, Steven Smith Teamaker was born at a Northwest Portland blacksmith’s shop.
