How to Make Golden Milk
Have you heard of golden milk (also known as turmeric tea)? It's a creamy, hot milk drink that includes turmeric. It tastes quite similar to chai: slightly spicy with the perfect amount of sweetness. But unlike chai, it has no caffeine. And this means it goes down especially well before bed!
What’s Turmeric?
Turmeric is a deep orange spice that’s used in Indian and Asian cuisine. While it was first used as a dye, it was later used for its medicinal benefits – and still is today. The golden spice has a long history of medicinal use (over 4,000 years!) in Southeast Asia. Turmeric contains curcumin, which has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. (It's also what gives the spice its vibrant color.) It has been said to relieve pain, help aid digestion, and improve heart health.
